SONY DSCIn 1998, owner Shawn Kalgren decided to make a career change that would ultimately set a new standard in the home renovation industry. He left the North Carolina school system to pursue a different type of service – Southern Home Services. Using his teaching skills in combination with his 15 years of home renovation experience, Shawn created a company whose values and principles are reflected by its “A+” craftsmanship and exemplary customer satisfaction. At Southern Home Services, “Exterior Renovation perfected by Superior Dedication” is not only our motto, but our pledge to every project we undertake and to every customer that puts their confidence in us. We can do this by bringing educational experience and trade expertise to the table so no customer is uninformed and no detail is overlooked. This is why Southern Home Services won’t be seen on television or heard on the radio – their customers do their advertising for them.

Shawn Kalgren Owner

Shawn was born in Brockway, Pennsylvania and graduated from IUP in 1997 with a BA in Secondary English Education. Shawn was nationally recognized as an Angie’s List “10 Best Contractors”. Shawn is married to Kari and is the proud parent of two girls. In his free time he enjoys backpacking, mountain biking, and traveling with his family.

Travis Sims Project Manager

Travis is our Project Manager. He is from Sevierville, TN and attended East Tennessee State University. He has been in construction management for 14 years specializing in residential remodeling. Travis is married to Kristen and has one daughter. In his free time he enjoys hunting, golfing, and watching college football.

Rob Drumm Project Consultant

Rob is our Project Consultant. He grew up in The Catskill Mountains in New York State and attended Delaware Academy and SUNY Delhi where he studied Parks and Recreational Management. He has been in the remodeling industry for 16 years. Rob is married to Tracy and has one son. He enjoys recreational activities with his family, playing outdoors with his son, camping, and trout fishing.

Jeff Viscount Project Consultant

Jeff joined the Southern Home Services team in 2014. With more than 30 years experience in the remodeling industry Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company. Currently Jeff manages all of our office operations. When he’s not working to keep our office running smoothly he can be found raising money for multiple charities and giving back to our community through his love of road cycling.

Lori Weaver Office Administrator

Lori is a native Charlottean and ASU graduate who has spent many years in the upfit/remodel business. As our newest SHS family member, she lends her creative skill set to the team along with her desire to provide the highest customer service possible. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching Panthers and Appalachian State football, teaching cardio funk, and painting.
